Our Special Process

Texas Iron Wood Furniture works with local landowners to remove unwanted trees from their property. We then combine over 40 years of woodworking and welding expertise to enhance their local Texan timber with new steel and iron (or reclaimed, when available) for a distinct, one-of-a-kind result that truly withstands the test of time. Every custom piece is created with your design aesthetic in mind, without losing the distinct character of the original tree the piece was built from.

We can also supply our customers with separate components for creating their own custom piece. Whether that’s providing a slab that is rough, planed and sanded, semi-finished, or fully finished, or by creating a one-of-a-kind custom base for their own project.

With our new router-sled/work-table we now have the ability to flatten/plane slabs up to 50inch wide – 12 feet long

Natural Beauty, Detailed Elegance

Texas Iron Wood Furniture is proud to offer a wide selection of benches, tables, shelving, and decorative home furnishings to suit just about any taste. However, if you have a certain idea in mind to create just the right look for your home or business, owner John Tatum and his crew are happy to provide custom furniture fabrication. Every piece is created from scratch with locally-harvested wood, then polished to a lovely shine to enhance the grain of the wood. All of our pieces feature natural colors, and we do offer a wide selection of finishes including epoxy, polyurethane, polyacrylic, spar urethane, oil & urethanes, and many others. Your trimmings, either ornamental iron or steel, are hand-welded, leaving you with a long-lasting product that you won’t find anywhere else.
